Google AdWords Updates Interface, Campaign Management Faster and Easier

It has finally happened. Google AdWords is updating the campaign interface. Google has released a micro- site so users can get familiar with the New AdWords Interface. Link.

New to AdWords are 15 ways to track and keep track of your AdWords account. Here are what I think are the highlight. I think everything is great even only browsing through the interface for a short time the day of release. Like anything new it will take awhile to get to know how to best implement.

Account Tree: The new account tree sends you quickly to any campaign or ad group from any page in your account.

New Performance Summary Graphs: Performance summary graphs on most tabs let you chart two metrics at once over a selected date range. You get a quick idea of how your statistics have changed over time.

New Roll-up Tabs: Need to find the most expensive keyword in your account? New roll-up tabs let you sort and edit keywords, ads, placements and settings across campaigns and ad groups. Sort by cost and see your biggest spender pop to the top of the list. This is going to save users time and money.

New Automatic Placements: Automatic Placements let you dig deep into content network performance. See how your ads perform on different content network sites, then optimize by bidding differently for specific placements or by excluding them entirely.

Keyboard Shortcuts: Keyboard shortcuts help you save time while navigating through your account, because you don’t have to take your hands off the keyboard to use the mouse.

In-context Help Articles In-context help articles below the account tree give you answers in the right place at the right time. This probably my favorite new tool in the Google AdWords Interface. I have so much trouble finding help for AdWords in the past.

I’m plan on writing a 15 post blog series about each new addition to the interface.

I haven’t written to extensively about AdWords here becouse this site was started more of a view of my journey making money online and being a Ski Bum. AdWords can be risky money wise. So it been left out until now. If you are new to AdWords make sure you learn it inside and out.

Yah this new interface has made many things easier. But for few things I feel old features should have been retained in this new interface. For example in previous interface you can switch to next ad group in the way you sorted it but in this new interface you have to come back to ad groups tab and click on the next ad group if you want to continue checking sorted ad groups by clicks, cost or impressions. I sometimes skip 1-2 ad groups in this process.
