BANS Is Ending A Era Of Internet Marketing and Rebuilding

When people say things on the Internet change they mean it. In a not so surprising email the BANS Developers sent October 13, 2009 it was revealed BANS will be changing. The Developers are still deciding on just what to do with the software that has made so many so much money.
On Monday October 19, 2009 the Build A Niche Store, Forum and The N1WAY Websites will be taken down for one week. Moving the forum to NicheSiteBuilding.com the reason for doing this is to set it up and structure it differently to better reflect the reality of the model we’re all involved in. There’s a good chance that the developers will also end up building a blog off that domain as a new communication channel to share ideas and concepts that we have and haven’t found a way to distribute.
The eMail sent was direct in saying the BANS owners made lots of mistakes and some changes will include resolving the free lifetime updates for the script. The script will probably be completely rebuilt and marked differently.
One thing that caught my attention was a direct comment about how eBay has destroyed the affiliate model hence affecting the BANS Model. Clearly this is the case for lots of us. How can anyone build a business with a partner that will keep you looking over your shoulder 24/7.
The eBay.com affiliate model is just too iffy to really build something like BANS around. How can you sell a script like BANS if know one can get a ePN Account. And These days not very many people even want one.
This statment is very telling:
“As you’ve no doubt felt yourselves with the eBay palava in particular – it’s one thing after another. This becomes draining which kills motivation which results in stagnation and which ends up affecting other aspects of your life” Here’s the forum thread
I think all of us who have worked with ePN over the years fell like we are constantly bobbing and weaving around changes seemingly being made by young arrogant children who can’t and won’t admit when they are wrong. Even worse not correcting the back stabbing dishonesty. Feeling disenfranchised and looking over your back is no way to live. How many times a day can you check a account to make sure its still active?
Personally the ePN Network still has a major presence in the portfolio. There is no choice in some instances, but in other all of my sites are being adapted to be able to run products from all over the Internet Market places.
I started to make a list of other networks I found to work for me. Some of them have better tools for site building than eBay’s API. I’m trying to find time to update this list, but with changing so many sites in time for Christmas time has been short. See Affiliate Network List
