You have your list of keyword now which basically gives you a list of niches. Don’t worry if the competition is high for your very first blog. The most important thing is to make sure you will be engaged with your site so writing content is easy. Even if you have lost of competition, but can write lot of relevant, authoritative content you will overcome the competition over time. Think of your first site as a hobby for you and your interests.

I recommend to everyone to start with Blogspot. Blooger Blogspot is a Google based blogging system and allows you to place ads on the site. It is also very easy to learn and you can implement basic html on the pages. Sign up for a free Blogger account.

When you are picking blog title and nickname or even the description you want to use your keyword as much as possible. Keep everything you do “relative”. Now when you go to choose your URL you may find its difficult. Start with the best keyword for your interest / niche. Say “Best Tea Pots” is your best KW and its already taken try your next group of KW’s. You can put up to two “-” between the KWs but you want to avoid this if possible. The URL is important, but not that important. Just try to get as many KWs into the URL as you can but no more than 3. If your KW is Tea Pot the try Old Tea Pots, Tea Pot Reviews, Antique Tea Pots and so on. To keep the Tea Pot example for learning purposes I went and set up Antique Tea Pots Blog. You can follow how I build this site with content and monetize it.

Once you have your blospot blog start to optimize it. Pick a theme. Then go to the settings page and fill in everything. Under basic fill the description with your relative Keywords while describing your site. Select yes for all distribution channels. Go to publishing and the rest of the settings areas and complete the set up process.

When you get to the “site feed” part open another window and go to feedburner and set up a rss feed account and put the address in the “Post Feed Redirect URL” It will look like this http://feeds.feedburner.com/AntiqueTeaPots

Its time to make your first blog post. Start with a introduction and some history about your authority of interest. Make sure you use your keywords and try to engage your readers. At first it seems like no one is reading your blog, but try to write like you have readers. They will come and you want them to feel like others are going to your site too.
