Once visitors start coming to your site it it very important to find out what they want. You do this by using Analytics. Seeing we made are first site using Blogger we don’t have many choices. When using blogger with there server you do not have the flexibility that you have with a self hosted blog. Setting up self hosted blogs is next on the agenda.
Back to giving your users what they want. Once you have people coming to your site you want to find out what keywords brought them there. This can be done with google analytics easily. Go to https://www.google.com/analytics and set up your account. Scroll down to “Create New Website Profile”
See the example below:
Please decide if you would like to create an additional profile for an existing domain, or create a profile to track a new domain.
| Add a Profile for a new domain | OR | Add a Profile for an existing domain |

Click finish and Google will generate a javascript to put on your site. You do this by clicking on LAYOUT the EDIT HTML. Click the expand box. Then scroll down to the bottom until you see </body>. You need to highlight the code from Google Analytics>Copy and Paste that code just before </body> tag.
Example of blogger template:
</div></div>

</body>
</html>
Click “Save Template”. Then go back to were you got the code from and click Finish. Almost done. Once you click finish you will be brought back to the Analytics Settings page. Look for your site on the list. You will see Tracking Not Installed. Click On Check Status
