eBay’s Black Saturday When Search Crashes Along With Affiliate Sites
Crazy things happening on Saturday November 21, 09. As I do everyday as I drink my morning coffee I was checking email and websites. Well it only took about 10 minutes to see the feed coming from eBay that populates many of my sites was showing a huge error where the items should be.
You know what I did? Went on. Didn’t even care really. I sent out a tweet at around 7AM and that was it. After the entire day passed I was working on some Android stuff with twitter and notice that folks where saying the search wasn’t functioning. Yup went and checked for myself and the search is returning a error saying function is unavailable.
These things happen most would say. Right? Well not these days. With so many affiliates adopting poor attitudes towards eBay combined with shoppers and seller getting mad about deals that feel though and a host of problems what more can happen.
The search hasn’t worked for almost a entire day and most affiliates sites and feeds down. Its almost impossible not to question the validity of eBay in general. How much time do we have to put into the site to get a return of any kind for users. IMO never. Never will eBay truly reward the people who truly built the site. The users.
The entire subject of eBay is sore subject in many circles which raises the question of eBay’s future. They have disenfranchised many people over the years. Not always from changes they make but the attitude they take when doing things.
eBay needs to remember is a user generated content based website that will crash and burn harder than BLACK SATURDAY if they don’t remember that. The stock holders my own the company, but the users, from sellers and buyer to affiliates are the heart of the site. Without that they are done.
Eric Schmidt’s CNET Interview Is Very Telling Of The Internets Future
So many of us look to others for information to decide how to make money on the Internet. Most look at guru’s and listen to folks selling e books. This get most nowhere except the poor house.
The only way to really breakout is to think forward. Not just thinking forward but coming up with something unique. The guru’s and ebook seller are only doing what you should be doing. They are building a site and adding value to it. They add value by getting a following and building lists. This is getting old IMO and building a following is becoming more difficult as users begin to be spammed by being on these lists. Personally I get emails everyday from marketers that got me on there list. I am done with this. I have been spammed to death. I can only assume many people are in the same boat and can see these mailing lists being marked as spam be ICANN very soon.
So where do you get your information for building your future. The people who run and build the Internet is a good place to start.

Twitter Flexs Muscles-Social Oomph Ending Reoccurring Tweets
In just one of a long list of Internet changes this week Social Oomph announced that Twitter has told them to end “Recurring Tweets” Flexing a little muscle now that they are valued at a Billion Dollars.
This the text the site posted states:
“Recurring Tweets are a violation no matter how they are done, including whether or not someone pays you to have a special privilege. We don’t want to see any duplicate tweets whatsoever- They pollute Twitter, and tools shouldn’t be given to enable people to break the rules. Spinnable text seems to just be a way to bypass the rules against duplicate updates and essentially provides the same problems”
Thursday, October 15th, 2009, 00:00 AM CST SolialOOmph will prevent the entry of recurring tweets on Twitter accounts within the SocialOomph system. Existing recurring tweets on Twitter accounts will all be placed in paused state at that time, so that the content of the tweet text is still accessible to you, but no publishing to Twitter of those tweets will take place. Recurring tweets scheduled for other social services will not be affected by this change.
This development leaves lots of marketer wondering what to do. People use this tool for many reasons. Twitter seems to think it’s used for spam.
Luckily for everyone who has need for sending out tweets there are alternatives. And they don’t all spam. By adding different text and links (spinning) is not spam according to widly held beliefs. So I have a couple tools I already use and have had good luck with. They don’t have dashboards like Tweetlater/Socialoomph, but there cheaper and work great.
The first tool is The TwitterBot I love this tool. Its the best out of all I have tried. You can use it with proxy servers and spin text and links. You need to be able to istall it to a server.
Another twitter tool I like is TweetRiches. Tweet Riches is more of a tool for promoting there product, but I use the viral tweeting tool for promoting links. Its a little pricey, but if you set up the tool for making money with them it earns back fast. You implement there money making method and use the tools for other things. I like it and I make money off of there program. A bonus for using TweetRiches is they send all your earning to your paypal account in under 24 hours of a sale. No one does that.
The last tool I will suggest is Twitter Beast. TAO the owner is excellent with helping people. He has a lite version you can get and a pro version. Try it out at Twitter Beast Tao only charges $9.00 for the pro version, but I think as it develops he will need to start charging more. I would.
On my first test with Twitter Beast I set up a campaign with 10 Twitter Accounts and 20 Tweets. I actually made $25.00 in 2 hours. I promoted Halloween Costumes. This was just one test and I will be doing more very soon. Tao also built AmaBans. It puts Amazon product on BANS Sites without a ton of hassle. Works great if you have lots of ePN Sites you need to change fast.
