Just a quick post about the mission of The Rich Ski Bum. My mission is really to try and provide a easy explanation of basic site building for Novice Webmaster. I will be moving towards advanced Website Development over time, but I want to do novice site development first because when I first found the need to change my life through the Internet I had a very hard time finding the simplest information. I had no idea what “ftp” was or how websites worked. Many times I would be stuck on something and I would go to forums to ask questions. Probably 70% of the time I would get no reply or a smug “RTFM” Read The F***N Manual” I found these replies very discouraging to say the least. Everyone has to start somewhere. Some don’t know how to use a search on a forum or do basic research so they ask on a forum only to get shot down. Won’t happen here!
I was sucked in my unscrupulous marketers that said buy this and you will be rich. Ya right. Their is no such thing as Get Rich Quick. I didn’t really do those but I did buy websites in a box that said they had products and inventory. These sites are basically just drop shippers. You find this out when you actually sell something and they say they need to make sure they have the item in stock. They are finding a drop shipper thats all. There are so many and I don’t name names. I mark it as a mistake. Users here will never see a ad, product or eBook I haven’t researched or don’t use myself.
The only way to make a living on the Internet (imo) is to develop content rich websites that are relevant to your niche or subject matter. Sites need to be unique in every way. From templates and themes to content it all needs to be unique. Sure some developers make money writing scripts, plug ins, WP themes or any number of ways, but if you are not a coder or tool developer creating Niche Sites is (In My Opinion) the best way. Creating tools is a good SEO method though, but that is a whole other subject.
