Big day today for the Rich Ski Bum. It’s time to book my flight home. Beaver Creek closes April 12 so their is less than 30 days of skiing left. Wow how time flies when having fun. Its been a incredible ride over the last six months.
When I first made the decision to go west and ski the decision was based on following a dream. The dream turned into a project of being able to take Internet Marketing on the road. With some basic knowledge and some tools anyone can make money online and travel.
Going home to New England is a mixed bag of emotions. I’m fortunate to live in a very beautiful part of the country, but Colorado is addictive. It is such a great place to be, even in the summer. Ive been procrastinating booking a flight home because I really don’t want to leave.
Getting ready to leave is becoming more imperative by the day. Selling stuff that will cost to much to ship home and deciding what to throw away or give away. Funny how we accumulate stuff no matter were we are. People just need stuff. I consider myself a minimalist, but I accumulate stuff anyway.
The dream will continue in 2009-2010 due to the fact that the EPIC Pass will be available again. At $579.00 for a season pass to 6 resorts the EPIC Pass is my enabler. If it wasn’t for the pass being able to ski Colorado would be almost impossible. Most resorts charge around a $100.00 a day to ski or ride. If you want to lock in the $579.00 price for the Epic Pass you need to make a deposit of $49.00 BY April 12, 2009 Then pay the balance in September.
The end of the ski season dose not mark the end of this site. As summer approaches I will be concentrating on passing on my Internet Marketing experiences. The site is not going anywhere, In Fact the site should grow as I knuckle down and try to make even more money online for next season.
Many people have asked me how to be a ski bum. Well it’s not easy. Being a Internet Marketer is probably the most important though. Most ski bums depend on the resort their at for a job, housing and their ski pass. The biggest draw back of working for the resort a getting all the benefits from them is once you stop working for them your benefits stop. So if your in employee housing and you have a beef with your boss you lose your housing, pass, and whatever else the resort provides. Being independent from the resort is essential.
