Twitter Is Aggressive In Combating Spam, Maybe To Much So

When something like getting suspended by  any website for violating terms without knowing is harsh. As in the previous post I have had some twitter accounts suspended. The reason from twitter, “Repeatedly following and unfollowing people in a short time period is considered aggressive following and follower churn, hence the flag.” One week suspension.

So they are giving me back my account, but according to Twitter I will not be included in the search. Whats the point of the account then. Once a user is suspended the site will not include them in search ever again.

Now the updates for this site aren’t showing in the search. Another sign Twitter thinks my methods are spam. Methods? Removing people who are not relevant to my site and tweets isnt spam. Its making my visitors have a better experience by keeping everything relevant.

My issue is getting over the shock and not letting these types of things happen again. I have taken action in respect to the way I use the site from this point forward. The biggest one is utilizing all Tweet Later has to offer. Tweet Laters unfollow tool only removes 10 followers at once. Also by using other tools like TwitterSnipe to only follow relevant followers that might follow back. This way I don’t need to worry about removing as many followers. So many people follow who only want to spam you. They need to be removed somehow.

My advice to anyone new to Twitter is never use new tools before researching first. Lots of unfollow tools have come out because they are the easiest to build off the api. Don’t use them unless it gives you a way to limit how many it deletes at once..

I have learned most of what I know about Internet marketing from trial and error. Good thing their are people like me to act like a genie pig.
