Website Directory Submission Technique That Works

Submitting websites to directories is one a great way to keep back links coming to your site over time. Most directories review and approve submissions over time. This is a good thing. If all your submissions are approved at once they appear unnatural to the search engines.

Appearing natural to the search engines is very important so I’m going to try and convey what I do to make submissions look natural.

First open your keyword tools and choose 10 to 20 keywords. I use some free keyword tools and Word Tracker. Word Tracker is a must have tool if you are serious about making money online.  Wordtracker Customers Get More Visits to their Websites… Find Out How! Using WT choose half of your keywords for the KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) and half for most searched. Copy and paste your keywords to a notepad document. Make sure to separate them with comma’s.

Next you need descriptions. Yes thats a plural. Duplicate content is a no, no. Open another notepad document and write between 3 and 5 descriptions. Be sure and use 250 to 450 words for each description of your website. Now all directories are require different amounts of words, but you can mix up you content as you do your submissions.

Now that you have keywords and descriptions saved on notepad document go find some directories. It’s simple. Just do a search for directory lists on the search engines or webmaster forums. You will find thousands of free website directories. Put together a list in a MS Office Document or notepad. I like using a office document so I can put a check next to each one as I do my submissions. It’s very important that you don’t submit a site twice to a directory. Most will delete duplicates along with your original to avoid duplicate content. Also be sure to check the page rank for the directories. List them in order from PR 6 through 1. The higher the PR the better. Or Submit Your Website To Thousands Of Website Directories Instantly! with free tools.

Your ready to go. You have keywords, descriptions and a directory list. Start with your page rank 6 sites and start submitting. The most important issues with directories is finding the correct category and completing the form completely.

Try to remember work you do today will pay off down the road. Your submissions will show up in your stats and logs over time. Keep checking Google Webmaster Tools and your hosting stats to see your back links.

As you do directory submissions you will find it can become very boring, but it is a important part of SEO and needs to be done. You can save time by spending a minimal amount of money by using a Directory Submission Service. You may find a service is worth saving time. I do all the time.

Good luck and may you make money online!
